Maruti Alto is a subcompact 5 door hatchback. It is an Indian version of the more widely recognized Suzuki Alto. Since its launch in 2000, Maruti Alto has set records by selling more than 2 million vehicles in a single fiscal year. The VXi model is specifically produced to meet the growing needs of East European block where its 1061cc engine comes with 5 speed manual transmission.

The second generation Maruti Alto is similar to Suzuki Alto and is based on Suzuki A-Star Concept global car. The new Maruti Alto is fully loaded with features such as power windows, central lock, ABS, rear wiper, fog lamps, CD player and airbags. It is also claimed as India's most fuel efficient cars which can cover 19.73 miles per liter. An intelligent drive assist power steering offers low turning radius making it easier to turn and park in congested space.

Safety

New advanced technology also includes booster assisted brakes for shorter braking distance and the revolutionary collapsible steering column for avoiding injury to drivers. These safety features are enhanced by iCATS security system. Standard safety features also include side-impact beams, tubeless tires, clear lens lamps and high mount stop lamp.
